Thermal Imaging – For Florida Home Inspectors

Thermal imaging electrical pinellas countyThermal imaging used by Home Inspectors, uses infrared technology to detect very small differences in temperature. Every material has a unique thermal signature and when moisture, heat, cold, or wood destroying insects are introduced into the structure the image signatures changes. The changes can be subtle or dramatic but with this incredible thermal scanning technology the thermalInfrared%20Home%20Page[1] signatures are detectable where they wouldn’t be able to be seen with the naked eye.

Thermal imaging, or Infrared Technology lets you see defects others can’t

Thermal image scanning technology is now being used to evaluate residential and commercial structures. As a non-invasive testing tool it can quickly help discern where there are suspected issues. This can help to limit the areas where time consuming further evaluation and thermal imaging clearwater floridadestructive discovery is needed. Below a roofing contractor told the home owner that there was nothing wrong with the roof his company installed. A thermal image picture shows moisture under the entire roof, needless to say after further evaluation by the roofing contractor he replaced the entire roof system.  Read a more detailed article on the benefits of Thermal Imaging.

Advantages of Thermal Imaging

Advantages of infrared thermal imaging are that non-contact temperature acquisition can be obtained without touching the object. This is particularly advantageous when we are not able to access the object (for safety reasons) or that a system must otherwise be shut down for evaluation. Two dimensional evaluations can be made by comparing the temperature of multiple targets within the same scan. This temperature differential between like objects produces the anomalies which we seek. Thermal imaging is real time. It is not necessary to wait for processing of images and immediate evaluations can be obtained.
